Aldi engine oil - do they sell 5w30 or 10w40 for your car? I compare prices between Aldi, Safeway, Shoppers and Giant food.
The discounted grocery giant does not sell oil for your engine in the US at this time. I don't know if they ever plan on changing this fact. They do however offer this much needed product in the UK. But for all of us in America I do have some alternative sources for you.
Of course we all know that you can purchase a variety of lubricants for your automobile at your local gas station. But do they offer you the best prices along with your unleaded gas? I have found that usually you can find a better price at your neighborhood supermarket.
I typically do not shop at Safeway for most items. They tend to have higher prices for most items. Well, I was taking my daughter to basketball practice on Monday evening. At the time I write this we are traveling in our 2001 GMC Yukon. This seasoned truck began to burn oil over the last 6 months.
It was 3 days before payday and I don't know how your account looks like a few days before payday, buy my account was running low. So, the "check engine oil level" light came on as soon I as pulled off but I didn't want to stop and make her late. During the trip the "low fuel" light also came on.
So I dropped her off at practice and went to the closest gas station which was only a mile away from the school. I pulled up at pump #7, parked, and went inside. I put a quart of 5w30 on the counter at let them ring it up. Imagine the shock I felt when the attendant told me, "That will be $7.99"!
Were they kidding me! The Exxon closest to my house sells the same quart for $4.99, and Giant prices a generic quart at $3.99 and Shoppers $4.49. There was no way I was going to pay that much. So I told him to take that off my tab and just give me $10 dollars on pump 7.
This gas stations was the one on Norbeck Rd in Rockville Md and there is a Safeway right across from it. I took a chance and drove over to Safeway just to see how much they would charge for engine oil.
I was presently surprised
